2023. 9.15. 신문에 의하면 한국 정부는 여야의 합의로 개고기 식용 금지법을 만들기로 했단다. 참으로 기쁜 소식이 아닐 수 없다.

모든 인간은 아름다움을 추구한다. 눈과 귀와 마음을 즐겁고 행복하게 해 주기 때문이다. 아름다움은 자연스럽다는 의미이다. 자연스럽다는 건 조화롭고 균형이 잡혔다는 의미이고 또한 이는 안정감을 준다는 뜻이다. 안정감은 안락함을 주고 행복감을 준다.

모든 사물은 그 정체성이 투명할 때 자연스럽고 아름답다. 삼강오륜과 맥을 같이 한다. 분수를 지키는 것, 자기답게 사는 것, 격에 맞은 언행을 보이는 것이다. 나잇값 좀 해라. 등치 값 좀 해라. 얼굴값 좀 해라. 배운 값 좀 해라. 군인답게, 학자답게, 종교인답게, 언론인답게, 지성인답게, 교양인답게, 문명인답게 선진국 시민답게 말과 행동이 일치하는 모습을 보이는 것이다.

이는 감성이 아닌 이성이, 미신이 아닌 과학이 정상적으로 작동하는 사회에서만 가능하다. 그래서 문명국 즉 선진국이 되는 게 어려운 것이다. 대한민국은 세계에서 최고의 IQ를, 최고의 학력을, 최고의 근면성을 바탕으로 오늘날 세계가 다 부러워하는 성공한 나라, 선진국이 됐다. 세계 7개국밖에 없는 선진국 30~50클럽의 일원이 됐다. 지구촌 곳곳(공항, 호텔, 거리, 가정집)에 메이드 인 코리아가 없는 곳이 없다. 온통 K-컬처로 도배를 했다. K-뷰티, K-팝, K드라마, K-건강, K-툰 그리고 K-푸드가 그 중앙에 있다. 김밥, 비빔밥, 불고기, 김치, 떡볶기, 갈비, 잡채, 미역국 등.

여기에 왜 K-개고기는 없을까? 전혀 어울리지 않기 때문이다. 다수의 한국인을 포함 세계인들의 정서와 취향에 맞지 않기 때문이다. 어느 나라든, 하물며 사회공산주의 국가조차도 세계시장을 무시할 수 없다. 망하기 때문이다. 전 세계가 개고기를 먹지 못하도록 법으로 금하는 이유이다. 인간은 본능적으로 불쾌감 등 피해를 주는 것은 피한다. 인간의 본성이기 때문이다. 이 또한 인간이 양보할 수 없는 천부적 권리 중 하나이다.

Korea is one of just seven nations in the world to be a member of the 30-50 club of advanced nations. There are no made-in-Korea items anywhere in the globe (airports, hotels, streets, and residences). K-culture is widespread. At the heart of it all are K-beauty, K-pop, K-drama, K-health, K-toons, and K-food. Kimbap, bibimbap, japchae, kimchi, beef ribs, bulgogi, tteokbokki, seaweed soup, and more dishes are available.

Why is there no K-dog meat at this place? Because it doesn't belong anywhere. It does not do good and tastes of the rest of the world, including the vast majority of Koreans. No country, not even the most socialist, can ignore the global market. Cause It can devastate their country. This is why eating dog meat is prohibited around the world. Human nature demands that we avoid things that offend or injure us. It is also one of the God-given rights that we will never surrender.
