치앙마이 도착

태국여행 2일차:

.

1:45 치앙마이행 기차를 예약해 놓았습니다. 스완나폼 공항에서 공항철도 타고 마카산에 내려서, 메트로 갈아타고 화람퐁역으로 가면 됩니다. 방콕은 환승이 아니라 각각 표를 사야 합니다. 각각 약 35밧, 그러니까 공항에서 방콕역까지 약 70밧, 2800원 정도 듭니다.

중앙역의 푸드코트에서 점심도 먹고, 저녁 도시락도 포장하려고 했는데 푸드코트도 문 닫고, 국수 가게도 문 닫고.…역 안에는 커피숍 2개, 도너츠 가게 1개 외에는 전부 문 닫았습니다. 완전 초토화…

역 밖으로 나가 근처를 한 바퀴 돌았는데, 동네도 뭘 살 데가 없는 로터리 건너편에 음식점 1개와 커피점, 편의점이 보여서…파인애플 볶음밥, 볶은 국수 포장하고, 편의점에서 빵, 요구르트 음료, 물을 샀습니다.

미리 1시부터 체크인 시작해서, 기차에 올라 포장한 도시락이며 음료 먹고…그런데 행상이 계속 다니며 음식, 간식, 음료를 팝니다. 포장 안 하고 그것 사 먹어도 될 뻔했습니다. 행상에게 옥수수와 찰밥과 고기구이 도시락도 사 먹었습니다.

저녁차에 자리가 없어 낮차를 끊었던 거였는데, 낮이다 보니 방콕 주변 풍경도 보고, 아유타야 유적지도 보고, 롭부리의 원숭이들도 기차에서 볼 수 있었습니다. 방송에서 본 것처럼 롭부리의 사원파 원숭이들이 사원뿐 아니라 도로, 기차역까지 진출했습니다^^ 중부 이산지역의 너른 들판과 바위만 남은 낮은 산들도 보고.

저녁 먹은 후 의자를 침대로 만들어 주고, 커튼도 쳐줘서…편히 잘 수 있었습니다.

늘상 그렇듯 40분 연착해서 4시 40분에 도착…어두워서 역 의자에 앉아 날 새기를 기다리며…역 옆에 있는 편의점 문을 열었기에 커피랑 물 사 와서, 어제 남은 삶은 옥수수 1개씩 먹으며, 모닝 커피도 마셨습니다. 이제 숙소로 이동하려고 합니다^^

Arriving in Chiang Mai

Day 2 of my trip to Thailand

Had already booked for a train bound for Chiang Mai. Taking the airport train from Suvarnabhumi International Airport to Makasan. From here, transferring to the metro and go to Hwarampong station in Bangkok. In Bangkok, unlike Seoul, you need to buy tickets for each subway, not transfer. About 35 baht each, so it costs about 70 baht and 2,800 won from the airport to Bangkok station.

We had lunch at the food court at central station. We were going to prepare dinner lunch boxes, but the food court and the noodle shop were closed. There are only two coffee shops and one doughnut shop in the station, and everything else is closed. Compared to before the pandemic, it's completely shut down.

Looking around the station, we tried to buy something to eat and we found a restaurant and a convenience store across the rotary. Fortunately, we bought pineapple fried rice, fried noodles, bread, yogurt drinks, and water at the convenience store.

Checked in earlier than 1 o'clock and got on the train. We then enjoyed the packed lunch box and drink that we just bought. However, some peddlers showed up suddenly. They continue to sell food, snacks, and drinks on the train. We didn't expect this happening. But we again bought some of corn, glutinous rice, and grilled meat lunch boxes from them.

The reason why we bought a day ticket was because the evening train was sold out, but there were many good points. I mean there were many good things to see because of the daytime. Watching the scenery around Bangkok, the Ayutthaya site, and the monkeys in Lopburi on the train. As we've seen on T.V, Lobburi's temple monkeys made their ways not only to temples but also to roads and train stations^^ We also enjoyed the low mountains with only wide fields and rocks in central Thailand.

After our dinner, the staff came and then turned our chairs into beds in an instant and made the curtains. We then soon fell asleep.

As is often the case, the train was 40 minutes late and so arrived at 4:40 a.m. Still dark of course, so we couldn't go outside the station. Bought coffee and water at the convenience store at the station. Adding boiled corn that we bought yesterday was enough for our breakfast. Now, we're going to move to our hotel.^^
