-Sauna in Finland-

(핀란드의 사우나 경험)

다음은 핀란드 헬싱키 시에서 찍은 사진. 두 장은 핀란드 사우나의 풍경. 이곳의 사우나는 대단하지만 흠이라면 너무 뜨겁다는 것. 그러나 잘 아시겠지만 역시 가장 흥미로운 건 펄펄 끓는 사우나에서도 그나마 대화를 나눌 수 있다는 것입니다. 내 옆의 잉글랜드 사람은 자신의 건강관리 차원에서 이곳 사우나를 종종 방문한다고 하더군요. 나는 그에게 한국에도 이와 같은 종류의 사우나가 있는데 역시 인기가 많다고 말했더니 그는 내 말에 많은 관심을 보였습니다.

Those pictures under taken in the city of Helsinki Finland. The two are taken in Sauna. It,s really great but too hot for me. But you know it,s more fun to talk to each other in the boiling, steaming heat room. One guy from England told me that he often come this Sauna for his health. I told him we have same kind of Saunas in Korea. He was much interested in it.

다음 두 장의 사진은 바이킹 라인 (Viking Line) 항구의 노천 시장에서 찍은 사진. 지역 주민뿐만 아니라 전 세계의 관광객들로 성시를 이룹니다. 선물, 생선, 야채, 과일과 같은 많은 종류의 것들을 판매하구요. 그러나 역시 가장 흥미롭고 혼잡한 장소는 미니 노천 레스토랑이었습니다. 그들은 주로 튀김 멸치, 훈제 연어, 패류와 다른 종류의 해산물을 진열해 놓았습니다. 우리 부부는 훈제 연어와 튀긴 감사, 당근을 주문해 먹었는데 의외로 맛이 있었습니다. 물론, 가격도 예상과는 달리 무난했습니다.

The next two photos were taken in the open market at the Viking Line port. Not only local people but also touristers from all of the world. Many kinds of things they sell such as gifts, fish, vegetable, fruits...but the most interesting and crowded places were the mini street restaurants. They mostly have seafood like fried anchovies, smoked salmon, steamed seashells and some other kinds of seafood. My wife and I tried smoked salmon with fried photatoes carrot...and so on. We enjoyed it. Oh, yes the price was not so bad.

마지막 사진은 스웨덴 스톡홀름으로 가는 사진. 정말로 큰 배입니다, 그렇게 보이지요? 그러나 Silja Line이라는 다른 큰 회사의 배도 이 배만큼 크고 훌륭합니다. 어쨌든, 우리는 Silja Line을 타고 다음 주 스톡홀름 스웨덴에서 Tallin Estonia에 갈 것입니다. 분명 그 크루즈는 우리에게 또 다른 차원의 엄청난 경험이 될 것입니다. 지금까지 여정은 기대 이상입니다. 여러분들에게도 좋은 나날이 계속되시길 빕니다.

The last photo is the one we take to go to Stockholm Sweden. It,s really big one, isn,t it? But the other big one named Silja Line is as good as this one. Anyway, we are about to get on Silja Line to go to Tallin Estonia from Stockholm Sweden next week. It will be I,m sure, another greatest voyage for us. Well, so far so good. Have a nice day. 핀란드 현지인들에게 매우 인기 있는 작지만 역사를 지닌 조그만 섬에 대한 이야기를 놓쳤군요. 이곳을 가보니 우선 눈에 띄는 것이 학생들을 인솔해 유적지 설명을 하는 장면이 아주 인상적이었습니다. 이들은 이섬(Suomenlinna Island)을 소멀이이라고 하더군요. 바이킹 라인 항구에서 15 분가량 떨어진 곳에 있습니다. 물론 우리는 그곳을 방문하고 매우 만족했습니다. 특히 가이드 역을 하고 있는 사람은 전통 복장인 황금 의상을 입고 아이들에게 재미있게 이야기를 했고 또 아이들은 열심히 듣고 재미있어 하는 장면은 부러울 만큼 좋아 보였습니다. 사소한 것 같지만 자국의 역사 교육을 어릴 적부터 저렇게 열심히 시키니 애국심이 저절로 생기겠다는 생각이 들더군요.

Sorry for missing one to explain you about many kids on the street on a small island. A small but very historical and beautiful island (called Suomenlinna Island) for the Finns. It,s about 15 minutes sailing from the Viking Line port. So, we tried and quite satisfied with it. The guide who dressed in their traditional dress with golden hear worked very hard to make those kids understood and follow him in their historical Island. Yes, he was the great guide and very impressived.
