국무부는 펜스 부통령의 평창 동계올림픽 참석은 미-한 동맹의 강력함을 보여주고 북한과 정권에 대한 전세계의 최대 압박 캠페인의 중요성을 부각시킬 것이라고 밝혔습니다.
[녹취: 헤더 노어트 대변인] “His visit will further demonstrate the strength of the U.S.-ROK alliance and underscore the importance of the maximum pressure campaign, all around the world against the DPRK and its regime. He will also remind the world of the humanitarian rights abuses, humanitarian rights abuses that are well documented.”
헤더 노어트 국무부 대변인은 6일 정례브리핑에서 펜스 부통령의 평창 동계올림픽 관련 일정을 소개하며 이 같이 말했습니다. 또한 펜스 부통령이 충분히 입증된 북한의 인권 유린 실태를 전세계에 상기시킬 것이라고 덧붙였습니다.
